This drug is indicated in adults (from 15 years old), in the treatment of acute diarrhea of ​​infectious origin. The treatment does not dispense with dietary measures and rehydration if necessary. Take special care with Diafuryl 200 mg, capsule: You should promptly consult your doctor in the following cases: - in the absence of improvement after 2 days of treatment, - in case of onset of fever, vomiting, - if there is blood or mucus in the stool, - in case of intense thirst, feeling of dry tongue. Indeed, these signs show the onset of dehydration, that is to say a significant loss of fluid due to diarrhea. Your doctor will then judge the need to prescribe rehydration, which can be done orally or intravenously. This treatment is a complement to dietary rules: - rehydrate with abundant drinks, salty or sweet, in order to compensate for fluid loss due to diarrhea (the average daily water intake for an adult is 2 litres); eat during diarrhea, - by excluding certain intakes and particularly raw vegetables, fruits, green vegetables, spicy dishes, as well as frozen foods or drinks, - favoring grilled meats, rice. Due to the presence of sucrose, this drug should not be used in case of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency (rare metabolic diseases).
