Diarinova allows optimal infant nutrition and hydration of the infant during and after the episode of diarrhea. Novalac Diarinova cannot be given long term to a child. It is reconstituted in the same way as the milk formula usually given to the child. It is lactose free. It should not be used in case of cow's milk protein allergies. After use, when baby's stools have returned to normal, gradually reintroduce their usual infant milk formula.
