Traditionally used in seborrhoeic skin conditions (oily skin). We use the aerial part, rich in tannins, mucilages, flavanoids and vitamin E. These compounds work together to treat skin diseases as diverse as acne, eczema or psoriasis. The astringent properties of tannins slow down the sebaceous secretion of the skin. The depurative action of the plant results in an increased elimination of toxins in the kidneys and liver. This action is completed by the presence of mucilages with laxative properties. Finally, note the direct action of the plant on the skin, linked to the presence of unsaturated fatty acids and vitamins, in particular vitamin E with antioxidant properties.
