If you are severely immunocompromised (eg AIDS, transplant), consult your doctor for treatment of any infection. The propylene glycol excipient may cause skin irritation and cetostearyl alcohol may induce local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis). If there is no healing after 5 days of treatment or your cold sore worsens: Stop treatment and consult your doctor immediately. - In the event of an outbreak of cold sores, some hygiene precautions are necessary to protect those around you from the risk of transmission of the virus. At the same time as your treatment, to avoid the transmission of the virus, you must respect the following hygiene rules: - Avoid close contact, a kiss for example, with those around you. - Never kiss a toddler. - Take the advice of your pharmacist or your doctor in case of doubt about the nature of your lesion. - Wash your hands thoroughly in case of contact with the lesion. - During the treatment, in order not to spread the lesions, do not rub your eyes or your eyelids with your hands and if you wear contact lenses, never moisten them with your saliva. - Avoid touching or scratching the lesions. - In case of another localization of your herpes attack, never use this cream, take the advice of your doctor.
