The propylene glycol excipient may cause skin irritation and cetostearyl alcohol may induce local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis). If there is no healing after 5 days of treatment or your cold sore worsens: Stop treatment and consult your doctor immediately. - In the event of an outbreak of cold sores, some hygiene precautions are necessary to protect those around you from the risk of transmission of the virus.
